Your trusted partner for gluten free assurance

The Commercial team at Coeliac UK support businesses and organisations to enhance the safety, accessibility, and quality of gluten free products.

The Commercial team at Coeliac UK plays a crucial role in supporting this mission. We collaborate with businesses and organisations to enhance the safety, accessibility, and quality of gluten free products.

By partnering with food businesses, food standard authorities, and global coeliac associations, we advocate for better availability of gluten free options and create a world where those with coeliac disease or gluten intolerance can enjoy food with confidence. As a founding member of the Association of European Coeliac Societies (AOECS), our reach and expertise extend globally.

What is coeliac disease?

Coeliac disease is an autoimmune condition affecting around 1 in 100 people in the UK. When someone with coeliac disease consumes gluten, their immune system attacks their own tissues, causing damage to the lining of the gut.

Providing gluten free options isn’t just a necessity for those diagnosed with coeliac disease; it’s a growing consumer demand. Currently, 1% of the UK population has coeliac disease, and 10% avoid gluten for other reasons, making it essential for businesses in the food industry to cater to this expanding market.
